How did this exhibition come to be?

The system failed to hear a woman’s story and believe her.   Watching everything that unfolded in the media recently was emotional for me.  It brought up memories, tears, sadness and then anger.

I wanted to find a way to speak up for these courageous women;  I wanted to protest: I wanted to show people what it is like to be abused and not have your truths believed.  I have lived it.

With this exhibit, I want to honor their stories and my story.  I hope to convey, in some way, the trauma and emotions experienced with abuse.  Whether it is sexual, physical or emotional, abuse impacts lives forever.

When the system fails, we must become Warriors for ourselves …… Become a Warrior.
